The LAC health service carries out Health Assessments with all children and young people who are looked after at least once a year. This can happen in a number of ways.
When you first become "Looked After" you will have an arranged Health Check with the LAC Nurse and a special LAC doctor. They will help you to find out how healthy you are and whether you need any special medicines e.g. if you are asthmatic.
At your subsequent health checks you may be seen by the LAC nurse, a health visitor or your school nurse depending on your age and your own preference.
We also offer help and advice on matters of health to carers, social
workers, parents, children and young people.
