MAX Cards
The Max Card aims to widen access to museums and heritage, support learning, raise aspirations and to encourage inclusive, fun family days out.

Since 2003/2004, in partnership with Museums Libraries and Archives northeast and nine other local authorities, Max Card provides 15,000 children and their carers free entry to over 50 museums, galleries and heritage attractions across the North East.

Within South Tyneside Max card also allows access to free swims at Temple park and Hebburn baths.

You are entitled to a Max card if you are a Looked After young person, a carer of a Looked After young person or the child of a carer.

Other people that are entitled to Max cards are:
- Disabled children registered with the STAN network (or parent or sibling)

- Young Carer registered with the Young Carers Project (or parent or sibling)
- other young people who receive a service from South Tyneside Early Intervention and safeguarding department.
